ll castello venne costruito per volere della famiglia degli Annibaldi agli inizi del Duecento, il maniero nacque più come fortezza militare, in un punto strategico del territorio tra Roma e Napoli che come residenza nobiliare: le pareti esterne sono spesse oltre tre metri e tutta la struttura è protetta da una cinta muraria che poggia sulla roccia viva.
The castle was built at the behest of the Annibaldi family in the early thirteenth century, the manor was born more as a military fortress, in a strategic point of the territory between Rome and Naples than as a noble residence: the external walls are over three meters thick and the whole structure it is protected by a wall that rests on the living rock
Le château a été construit à la demande de la famille Annibald au début du XIIIe siècle. Le manoir est né davantage comme une forteresse militaire, à un point stratégique du territoire situé entre Rome et Naples, que comme une demeure noble: les murs extérieurs font plus de trois mètres d'épaisseur et l'ensemble de la structure. il est protégé par un mur qui repose sur le rocher vivant
